What to Expect in 2011

Event design can take its inspiration from anywhere.  I always encourage my clients to find the things that will make their event uniquely theirs.  This is especially important for my wedding clients.  There are a million plus ways to have a beautiful and fun wedding, but it is the personal touches that will make it truly unique because it is more of a reflection of the bride and groom as individuals, as a couple and of the joining of their two families.

Based on what I’ve been observing in the industry and discussion with my own clients, I anticipate that events, weddings in particular, will primarily fall into one of two categories:

Classic inspired by times gone by, ideas that have a timelessness to them, creating a sense of nostalgia and comfort

and

Glamorousinspired by this year’s fairy tale Royal wedding, creating a sense of wonder and a visually stunning experience for guests

In my next few posts, I will provide some specific ideas pulled from fashion, design, and food to inspire your 2011 event.
